IDEA
Three guitars, three soloists in an endless dialogue with their instruments. Like most guitarists, before they began to challenge the expressive possibilities of the guitar, they used them. After the phase of the instrumentalist tuning to the instrument, it was time to reverse the relationship (if only to give it a second life).
Common to all three is the idea that playing is not about dominating the instrument, but about recognizing its physicality. They also share a search for new articulations and sound preparations, but their purpose is different. In Doskocz's and Kostkiewicz's improvisations, sound events open the way to further events, while in Strzał w Kolano's compositions, they serve more as a non-binding building block.
The formula of three solo performances suggests that a higher-order relationship may develop between them, and thus the dialogues will begin to trialogue with each other. And therein lies
the social significance of the project.

Guitarist whose distinctive "physical" style was formed in the band Kurws. By day he contributes to the post-punk band Atol Atol. In his life he has played several hundred concerts and released several albums and cassettes. Outside of bands, he gives vent to his fascination with concrete, electroacoustic and improvised music. He seeks articulations that flow from limitations, from imperfections in performance and recording. He most often pursues his explorations with an electric guitar, but also reaches for acoustic instruments, processed field recordings or dub mixes.

He’s performed over 500 shows in various coutries of Eurasia (performing on Primavera Sound Festival, Avant Art Festival, SOTU Festival, Stellar Swamp Festival, DomOFFon, SURVIVAL Art Review, Out of Smth and more), has released 10 studio albums, 1 single and co-produced couple of ones (for Barłóg and UZS).
Strzał w kolano (A shot in the knee) is a solo project started back in 2017 in Portugal and reactivated in 2023. The basis here is a classical guitar (quarter-tone tuned) plugged into separate guitar amplifiers via a piezo microphone. The signals coming out of the amplifiers are given distinct identities, via horizontal and vertical processings, as well as a still ones, in the texture of the sounds themselves.
Conceptually, he's consumed with tinkering with structures that are unstable, yet necessary and unattainable, at once controllable and uncontrollable. While composing is for him a method of tracing the paradoxes of a composition, improvisation serves to test its strength, is a shaking of the structure, an act of self-vandalism on the grammar of the piece, which is expanded over time. In defense of the digressive nature of the course of music-making.
